pregnancy update

I met with my midwife today, and here's my status: 38 weeks, 26 pounds, and no cervical changes. Baby is quite contented to stay in utero. No surprise really. I was a week overdue with Grace, and there were no hints that labor was impending until it actually started. My midwife doesn't anticipate an early delivery, in fact I will likely go over again.

That's not a bad thing. For all the trials and tribulations of pregnancy, I'm not actually ready for this baby to come out. We still have a lot of work to do on the house, and we still haven't decided on a name for baby. Yes, we have a list, and each day we knock another name off. We decided that even if we come up with something, we will keep it to ourselves. We've had 38 weeks to name the kid already, what's another two or three weeks for everyone else to wait? Don't worry, it won't be something like Hummingbird Byron.
