flickr updated

Okay, so it did take nearly two months to post the pictures from our trip to Indiana. They are uploaded now (click here), and not a moment too soon. Grace's grammy, bammy, bonnie arrives tomorrow! Grace has already decided that their first activity will be to play with her train. She told me that she intends to "share" her train with bammy. She'll also share her train with me and her daddy--if we're good. I don't think that Lynne will have a moment to herself (at least while G is awake) for the duration of her visit.

Since I last wrote we had our ultrasound (see below). Baby looks good. He or she weighed 13 oz at 20 weeks gestation, and I assume that's a good thing. I'm making a great effort to keep my weight gain at a minimum this time round, so it's good to know that baby is developing normally. As planned we didn't find out baby's sex, which was a good thing because he or she wasn't extremely cooperative during the ultrasound. We met with one the doctors in the practice, and both Craig and I were very happy with the appointment. I made the switch to a midwife over a month ago, and since that time my anxiety level has diminished significantly!

Craig's semester is well under way, and while he has a heavier teaching load, his stress level is actually lower. In short he's teaching classes that hold more interest to him (and with which he has more teaching experience). His department was also able to locate some funds with which he can do some preliminary research (a very good thing since the budget was cut significantly early in the fall). He's happy.

I'm happy too. Really, really happy. Kind of a strange sensation for me, since I'm prone to melancholy. Life feels good. I feel very contented with this pregnancy, and I'm looking forward to the birth. I know that we'll have a rough road this summer, but I feel like we're taking the necessary steps to make that transition as smooth as possible. I could go into more detail, but I'm too interested in relishing this particular period in my life.

Enjoy the pictures. We'll get some with Grace and Bonnie posted soon.
